Managing internal policy development of organizational policy to ensure compliance with the Employment Standards Act of Ontario. Conducts needs assessment, stakeholder engagement, policy research, dissemination, implementation, and evaluation of organizational policy.

The Diversity Institute is a research group housed at the Toronto Metropolitan University, composed of 130 full-time research staff contributing to projects aimed at promoting equity across sectors in Canada. I contribute to consulting research projects for government entities, non-profit organizations, and industry to increase equitable representation and outcomes in Canada’s workforce.

As Managing Editor, I oversee the Canadian Studies Journal editorial section, manage the peer review process, and ensure the publication of high-quality research. My role emphasizes collaboration with authors, reviewers, and editors, fostering advancements in Canadian studies through strategic editorial leadership and advocacy for ethical research practices.

Conducting quantitative data analysis to support the identification of tailored funding opportunities for faculty members at the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy.

Conducted research on faculty expertise, publications, and collaborations to curate a comprehensive profile that accurately portrays their research and experience on the search tool.

Conducting evidence-based policy research projects on topics relating to access to postsecondary education for historically marginalized groups, the enhancement of student learning opportunities and outcomes, and institutional and sector sustainability.

The Hard-Working Student: A Research Study

Conducted research projects that source individuals for senior-level appointments in global higher education and sought to align faculty research to the client institution’s research and strategic objectives. Successfully placed individuals in key leadership appointments in Canada’s top research universities.

Led research project exploring best practices for increasing academic resilience for first-year undergraduate students in higher education to contribute to the improvement of policy and practice at the University of Toronto. Conducted literature and environmental scans, qualitative and quantitative analysis, and participant recruitment to aid in the design and delivery of evidence-based academic resilience and resourcefulness programming. Gained skills in policy and program evaluation, thematic deductive analysis, and equity-centered research.

Contributed to an institutional research project that examined student experiences at the Faculty of Dentistry by determining research objectives, recruiting participants, collecting and analyzing qualitative data, and presenting findings to senior administration at the University of Toronto. Gained skills in human-centered, community-led research methods that underscore lived experience.

Lead research project to assess key competencies required in an increasingly digital workplace to determine how the City of Toronto can address the digital skills gap for Ontario Works recipients to gain meaningful employment. Gained competencies in municipal policy research, engaging with community groups, and communicating findings to multiple stakeholders.

Digital Literacy Pathways Project

Contributing to funded academic research projects under the supervision of faculty members at the University of Toronto. Gained competencies in quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis, systemic literature reviews, research ethics, grant writing, conference presentation, and manuscript publication.
